Weird Puffy Bedhead

I got my first haircut in over six months today. Photobucket The last time I got a haircut was before Christmas. Why so long? Because I hated my last haircut and I literally had no one to go to that I can trust with my hair. So I held out as long as I could. Until now. My hair was getting so long that it was taking forever to wash, condition, dry, and style. Also, all the layers grew out, so it was slightly shapeless. This hair dilemma started in September 2007, when my most favorite awesome hair guy, Jay, got accepted to grad school and quit cutting hair. Happy day for him, sad day for me. He was SO good with my hair. I would get a trim and you wouldn't be able to tell that it had happened, which is how I like it. After Jay, I went two or three times to this lady that Jay had recommended. Each time I was unhappy. She wasn't precise. Sometimes the cut would be uneven. She was sloppy and quick. So I just stopped getting haircuts. Last month Todd decided to try a new person at the salon where Jay used to work. Her name is Heather. She did a fairly good job with Todd's hair. So I finally bit the bullet and went today. She did a lot of layering on me. I told her to cut off one inch, and not to cut off any of my bangs, because I like them long. She cut off three inches, and cut at least an inch off my bangs. I thought I might cry. (I have cried after a haircut before.) After she dried my hair, she styled it and put in this magic volumnizing powder called Dust It at the roots. The stuff really was magic. Within seconds, my hair was practically standing straight up. I have weird puffy bedhead. This will take some getting used to. Oh, I almost forgot! I had to get a sandwich from Togo's for dinner tonight because Todd had a Toastmasters training meeting, and I had my haircut at 6:30pm. I got swarmed by bees in the middle of the parking lot! At first I thought they were just regular bugs. I was surrounded by hundreds of them. Then I heard the buzzing and looked closer and they were BEES! OMG I totally freaked and ran away. Miraculously, I didn't get stung. But I found something interesting at Togo's: the napkin! Photobucket Love the graphics on it. I guess inspiration can come from anywhere, including a napkin, LOL.

  2. Watcha talking about a weird bedhead? It's kinda cool, and with those highlights looks kinda rockstar-ish :D

I'm going to get a cut tomorrow myself. Am going to try and get myself some long bangs (long enough to sweep over my forehead--I don't like it when I can tuck them behind my ear, lol)

  3. I think your haircut is cool! My daughter has finally asked for layers..YAY! Her hair is so thick and in this heat, I know it must be HOT..but she won't pull it up. Why? Because she's 12.

Have a great day..I'm off to do lesson plans. All.day...for the next 7 days. yay. :/

  7. Heather did a great job, from the looks of it. Six months is a long time between haircuts.

  8. I think your hair looks great, but I so completely understand how hard it is to find a good stylist that you trust, who gets your hair, who listens and cuts what you want cut and not what you don't, etc, etc. It is so hard--I have been that long between haircuts for that same reason. I was thinking about you this weekend--so glad you looked like you had a great time and survived and did awesome!

And I love the napkin...I found inspiration yesterday in a magazine t-shirt ad...we'll see what comes from it!

  11. I think you look great with your new hair-do too! Six months really is long, I cut my short hair every six week. And I'm very lucky to have found a really nice stylist at a place not far from work. It is very convinient.

  12. Oh Christine...6 months?? Last time I cut my hair I was mad at Kurt and did it just to spite him...myself. Yeppers, tied it in a knot on top of my head and everything that hung past my nose, I whacked off...like 8 inches or so - and would you believe, he's the ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED?? I think that was June '07 lol.

Your hair is super cute though - I have never been so much into styling mine lol. TOO LAZY :) I like other people's hair, cute doo's, fun stuff, but mine? Nahhhh lol

The napkin is WAY COOL btw, even though I have never heard of togos :D

  13. Crazy story about the bees. The same thing happened at the Padres game. Did you read about it?

  14. I was going to ask about the Padres game too! It totally made me think of your story. Is there some kind of bee craziness going on there?
