Smells Rosy From Here

We invited our friends Anne & Gilbert over for lunch and to watch our Ohio State Buckeyes play the Iowa Hawkeyes for the Big Ten championship and a trip to the Rose Bowl.

Anne brought over a yummy salad made of spinach, persimmons, walnuts, and craisins.

We made Spicy Chicken Sandwiches with Cilantro-Lime Mayo again, because it was so yummy when we made it last week.

The game was pretty competitive. In the fourth quarter I thought we were going to win for sure when we were leading the Hawkeyes 24-10. But they had a kickoff return for a touchdown, and then another touchdown. Suddenly we were tied and going into overtime. Even Todd got nervous then! The Hawkeyes had first possession in overtime and couldn't score, because they actually went backwards. Then it was our turn and we only gained two yards on three downs. Then our kicker kicked the winning field goal and we won 27-24! The crowd rushed the field, and many players and fans had roses and rose petals were scattered everywhere. We're going to the Rose Bowl for the first time since the 1996 season! We're very excited about the outcome of the game. Plus, the Rose Bowl is only two hours from here, so there's a possibility that we might go!

Tonight I made a different card for Scrappers Give Thanks.

I made five of them.

Now I've got seven out of the 10 that I pledged done. I hope to finish the last three tomorrow so I can send them off next week.

  3. Well, as a Hawk alum, it was difficult to see. But at least you have the chance to possibly attend, so good luck OSU!
