When In San Diego...

and it's sunny, and the temperature is in the 70's in January... what do we do?
We go to the beach!

We slept soundly after a long but exciting New Year's Day.  Todd made blueberry scone for breakfast and we watched the Rose Bowl again, totally reveling in the fun.  :)  Then Todd's dad Tim requested to go to lunch at Souplantation.  He always wants to go there when he visits, LOL.

After lunch (I know, I forgot to take food photos!  I've turned over a new leaf!), we drove up to Fletcher's Cove in Solana Beach.  Todd's parents love to walk on the beach.  We got there and saw that it was high-tide, but that didn't deter them.  So off we went.

It was a really awesome day for photos.  The sun was hitting just right.  The sky was blue.  And the high tide made some cool reflections on the sand.

Once again I felt so blessed to live 20 minutes from such an awesome sight. These views never cease to amaze me. Todd's mom Sylvia decided to kick some water at Todd, ha ha.

Maybe this could be our Christmas card photo for 2010?

We walked around for an hour on the beach. It was really fun and nobody wanted to leave.

There were lots of surfers out too.  This one was about to get into the water.

We took naps when we got home. Then Todd made Creamy Carrot and Sweet Potato Soup and we had it with sandwiches for dinner.

We took Todd's parents to the airport for their red-eye flight back to Ohio.  The forecast there is 22 degrees.  Do you think they'll miss San Diego?
