Thanks you everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday, both here and at Facebook. I feel SO very blessed!
I had a great birthday. I thought I would take a mirror self-portrait of myself turning 40 years old.
This is what 40 looks like.
Kinda looks like 39 to me, LOL. Since I look and feel the same as the day before, when I was 39, I can't say 40 feels any differently! :p
Todd surprised me with a gift... an Ebelskiver pan! He also got up earlier to make me ebelskiver pancakes for breakfast.
Making the mix...
Whipping the egg whites.
All whipped.
Then you just combine the mix and the whipped egg whites together.
Fill the holes in the pan with the mix. Then Todd filled it with cherry filling.
The you turn them and cook the other side.
The cutest ebelskiver chef in the world!
Not bad for the first time ever! Some were slightly burned on the outside, but still tasted good!
I had a monthly review conference call for work in the morning. Then I met my friend Sandra for lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant. She insisted on treating me, plus she gave me a homemade cool card and a prayer box necklace, where you can write a prayer on a little piece of paper and stuff it into the little box and wear it around your neck. I was touched by her thoughtfulness and kindness.
For dinner, Todd took me to Bernard'O Restaurant. We had never been there before, but he had bought a $25 restaurant.com certificate for only $2 for Bernard'O, so we thought we'd go try it out. The service there was impeccable and friendly.
I had seafood bouillabaisse. I couldn't pronounce it but it was really good!
Todd had some kind of roasted chicken that he really liked.
Then we had a chocolate lava cake and creme brulee for dessert. Yum!
After we came home, my sister and my dad called me to wish me a happy birthday. My friend Meera also left me a voicemail. I felt special and loved. Turning 40 was less traumatic than I had anticipated.
I saw this blog post by Cathy Zielske yesterday. It's a list she made about turning 44. I thought it was really funny, so I'm sharing it with you.
This weekend Todd will be working almost all weekend due to a software deployment on Monday. So, I'll be scrapping, designing, reading, doing taxes, and doing more closet organization. I've made a lot of progress on that! I'll share when I'm done.
Have a nice weekend! :)
umm..that is NOT what 40 looks like. That is what damn hot 40 looks like. ;)
