Peppermint Got Married

Earlier this year, Peppermint IM'ed me and told me that the Ohio State vs. Wisconsin football game was on 10/16. I was wondering why she was interested in football all of a sudden. But the deal soon became clear... Peppermint and Tom wanted to get married on 10/10/10. She said we could go to the wedding and stay the week and go to the Buckeye game in Madison the weekend after. Todd was all for it! Well, of course, this is besides the fact that we would love to be there for Peppermint and Tom's wedding anyways.

So off we flew to Minneapolis on Saturday 10/9. See, that's why there hasn't been any blog posts from me lately! I've been in Wisconsin eating cheese curds!

We got a direct flight to Minneapolis from San Diego. I really love direct flights! Then we rented a car and drove to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. (About 1.5 hours.) By the time we got there it was 10:30 at night. We checked into the hotel and settled in. Peppermint told me to call her first thing in the morning when we're up.

So Sunday morning we got up and showered and got ready for The Pep and The Tom's big day. (That's what we call them. They call Todd "The Todd". Somehow I'm not "The Christine". Not sure why.) Then we drove the short drive over to Peppermint's house. It was exciting to finally see One Little Bird World Headquarters! Got to meet Tom's parents and brother's family. Also got to meet Peppermint's son Nicholas. I got to finally meet two little guys that I had been looking forward to meeting: Mo and Sisko, the cats.

Me and Mo.

Sisko kept running away from me with a scared look on his face. So I asked Peppermint, "Has your cat ever seen an Asian person before???" She said no. So we figured that Sisko was racist. He's a gray supremist! Peppermint was horrified and vowed to find some race-relations classes for Sisko.

We sat around and chatted with everyone. Finally we all got ourselves together and headed over to Peppermint's mom's house for the wedding. The house was on the edge of a lake and the scenery was very pretty.

We were excited to see the fall colors and leaves.  We don't have that in San Diego.

The wedding colors were light blue and brown. So we had some bubbling blue drinks.

Peppermint and her mom made some huge Martha Stewart pom poms for decorations.

Right before the ceremony started, Peppermint tweeted from her phone that I was live-tweeting her wedding. So I felt all pressured to live-tweet, take photos with my phone with my right hand, and take photos with my Canon with my left hand!

The start of the ceremony. The officiant was Peppermint's sister!

Their vows were so sweet. When it got to Peppermint's turn and she cried a little, I almost cried too. I'm a sucker like that.

Then they were pronounced husband and wife!

Isn't this about the cutest photo ever? Either they're really cute, or the photographer did a good job!  Bwahahahaha!  No, they really were so cute and adorable!

Some other cute shots of The Pep and The Tom.

This one is my favorite! It's so Peppermint.

After the wedding, more drinks were flowing.

Then there was BBQ dinner! Now that's what I really came for, LOL! Just kidding!

And cake! It's an almond flavored cream cake. It was the BEST CAKE I've ever had, for reals! I loved it so much. It's a good thing it was so good, because that cake had a story of its own and cost Peppermint some logistical headaches!

Some cupcakes for the kids.

After the wedding and good eats, we went back to Peppermint and Tom's house. What better way to start the marriage than playing some Rock Band? Right?

Nicholas LOVES playing the Rock Band. He's really good at it!

We were so happy to be able to attend Peppermint and Tom's wedding. Plus, I got to add two more states that I've visited in the U.S., and one more stadium! Stay tuned the next few days for more Wisconsin adventures. Will Todd be eating cheese in Wisconsin? Or will the cheese mob lynch him for hating cheese?
