Project Life | Week of April 23rd, 2011

I have not decided yet how much to go back to earlier this year in my Project Life album. I am keeping up great with current weeks, but I can see it'll take some work to go back all the way to January 1st. So maybe I'll make it from my birthday in March to next March. Not sure yet.

Project Life | April 23rd to April 29th:

We had a lot of activities going on this week. (Although, I think I can say that just about every week!)

Closer look at left-hand page:

The upper right photos are from Todd's 55 mile bike ride and our meet-up at Potato Shack midway through his ride.  Lower left is a photo of Noodle that I took on Easter Sunday morning, when I got up early and he was being extra-playful, playing in the brown paper that came packaged in my Project Life box.  Lower right is a photo collage of our Easter Sunday lunch with our friends AJ and Meera and their kids.  In the journaling on the left, I wrapped a blue and white twine around the journaling slip as decoration.

In the middle, between the two 12x12 protectors, is a 8.5x11 protector I got in bulk from Staples.  It's acid-free.  I like getting stuff like this in bulk from an office supply store, it's way cheaper than from a scrapbooking store.  So there's my tip of the day for ya, LOL!  I put our printed out ticket from the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert at Anthology in there, along with photos of Todd in front of Anthology, at Extraordinary Desserts, and a photo of BBVD playing on stage.  I had two extra photos so I just put them in this way instead of using another photo sleeve.

The problem with putting 4x6 photos into the 8.5x11 sheet protector is that they slide around.  So my new love came to the rescue.  I stapled tiny little staples right through the sheet protector and photos using the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.  (I linked to Scrapbook.com, but I actually ordered this from JoAnn.com during their huge scrapbooking sale and got it for 40% off.  You can use a coupon at Michaels or Joann to get this way cheaper.)  I. LOVE. THIS. TOOL.  The staples are tiny, only about 1/4 inch wide, and you just squeeze the stapler a little bit in your hand, super-easy!  The tiny staples are pretty un-obstrusive so they don't take center stage on the page, yet are super-functional.  LOVE!  Oh and I used a ultra fine point Sharpie marker to write on the space between the two photos.  (I printed it 2-up on the same 4x6 photo paper.)

On the other side of the 8.5x11 page protector, I printed out the directions to my first book club meeting.  I cut out strips of washi tape and taped it right onto the page protector and journaled on it using my Sharpie ultra fine point permanent marker.  It looks ok, but the journaling is a little hard to read.  I think a solid color or more subtle pattern of washi tape would work better for journaling.  But I'm just leaving it as is, because scrapbooking doesn't need to be perfect.  There are no rules.

On the 12x12 page on the right side, there's photo collages of the food for our Easter dinner at Dejah and Roby's house, and a photo of the four of us in the living room watching "Game of Thrones".  Lower right photo is having lunch with one of my best friends, Meera.  The little tiny colored stickers are days of the week stickers that came with the Project Life kit.  I put them on the journaling cards, along with the date stamped on there, and I also put the stickers on some of the photos to match them up to the journaling.

That's all for the week of April 16th in Project Life!  I don't know if I'll update every week, but I will if there's cool things or supplies.  :)

PS - I just realized the title of my post is wrong.  It should be week of April 23rd, LOL.
