As I talked about in my previous post... Todd and I celebrate Summer Solstice by taking the day off work and spending it having summer fun, because who wants to spend the longest day of the year cooped up inside at work? :) Todd wanted to book a night at the Hotel Indigo, after I had talked about it after seeing photos of it on someone's blog about their trip to San Diego. He filed it away for a special occasion. Our anniversary is this Saturday, but the rates that night were prohibitively high. He found a great rate for Tuesday night, so we celebrated our anniversary a few days early at Hotel Indigo!
The hotel is a LEED-certified green building, which is really cool! Since it was downtown, the hotel only had valet parking. They charge $35/day for parking too, which was kind of a bummer. But I know that's the going rate for hotels in big cities, that's why we don't rent a car when we're in San Francisco and we just get around on public transportation or taxis.
Upon entering our room, I saw that they had a Keurig coffee machine with k-cups in our room!
We had a view of Petco Park (home of the San Diego Padres MLB baseball team) right outside our window! I think this was my favorite part!
I loved the modern bedding and style here, as opposed to the standard hotel yucky bedspreads.
Cute sitting area.
Nice big walk-in shower.
And how cool was this artsy wall by the closet?
I had been slightly sleep-deprived the week leading up to this week, so I was so happy to take naps in this comfy and stylish hotel. And I slept about 10 hours Tuesday night too!
If you're ever in San Diego and want to stay downtown, I would definitely recommend Hotel Indigo. It was very comfortable, stylish, and well-designed. :)

About This Project
New52 is a project started by Peppermint and I to encourage each other and others around us to try something new every week in 2011. The "new" each week doesn't have to be something big. It could be something as simple as ordering a new dish instead of old standbys at your favorite restaurant. It's simply opening your heart up to NEW possibilities.
Don't worry if you're late getting started on joining in. It's totally OK if you miss a week here or there. We encourage everyone to keep an open mind about trying something new. This is a life project, and a photography/blog and even scrap challenge if you wish. If you participate this week, please leave a link to your blog post in the link list below. You can also post images to our New 52 Flickr Group! We would love to see what you were inspired to do.
Love the look of the hotel, very modern and stylish for sure. Will look into it the when we visit the SD area.
