Project Life 2011 | May 14th to May 27th

I completed two weeks of Project Life last weekend. I enjoy the process of picking out photos and printing them at home, then putting them into my photo protector sheets for Project Life. I collect the mementos/ephemera as it happens by sticking them into the pockets of my Project Life protector sheets. Then when I get to work on that week, I rearrange them as necessary.

I've decided to talk about products + processes more than the photos + stories that are actually in my Project Life album, because you've already seen them all on my blog. In fact, my blog probably has more photos than I'm printing out into my Project Life book, just because printing = money and I have to be more choosy of which photos to print. I'll link back to the week's stories on my blog in case you missed it and want to read about it. :)

Both of these weeks I had way more photos than 7 per week, so I've had to use extra 6up 12x12 We R Memory Keepers protectors.

Week of May 14th to May 20th

I used Ali Edwards' Memory Mini Line Stacks Brushes and Stamps and printed out "the best memories are the small moments" one in blue onto the Project Life grid journaling cards.  The journal cards are 2.75x3.75.  I simply made a 2.75x3.75 white canvas in Photoshop.  Then pulled up the Ali Edwards word art and resized it to fit onto my canvas, and colored it blue.  Then I put the Project Life grid journaling card into the rear tray of my printer and printed it out.  I love how it looks and I plan to use many more of Ali Edwards' "mini line stack" items from her Designer Digitals store.  :)  This was the week I made Sally's birthday mini-album as a gift to her.

Some mementos from the week in a 8.5x11 sheet protector.

Menu from my BFF Sally's birthday lunch.

I used Ali Edwards' Story Overlays 6x4 Journalers Value Pack for the 4x6 journaling block here.  I created a 4x6 blank white canvas in Photoshop and dragged the overlay onto the canvas.  Then I recolored it red.  I put a text box in and copied the story from my blog into the text box.  The font I used is Courier New.  I LOVE how it looks like I typed on the journaling card using a typewriter!   Then I printed it out onto a white Bazzil orange peel texture cardstock.  I also really just LOVE copying stories from my blog for the journaling in my Project Life album, because I documented the stories when they were fresh and the details are just there for the taking when I go and scrap my pages!  Seriously LOVE this process.  (Could I possibly say LOVE more times in this paragraph?  LOL)

More photos from Sally's birthday lunch + dessert.

Here I used a different overlay from Ali Edwards' Story Overlays 6x4 Journalers Value Pack to document a Thursday night Burger Lounge + Moo Time Creamery outing with Dejah and Roby.  I think it looks great and it's an awesome way to fit more storytelling into this 4x6 space!  :)

Week of May 21 to May 27

The green sheet on the right is a turn-by-turn direction sheet for the 66 mile 2011 San Diego Century Ride that Todd participated in on May 21st.  The cute paper clip and flag sticker are from SMASH by K and Co.

I used some washi tape to adhere a smaller photo of him onto the stamped week header.  I used orange BIC extra-fine permanent marker to journal straight onto the photos.

Just used some 4x6 white index cards for journaling here in the 4x6 pockets.  I taped a business card from our lunch at Whisknladle, and the product tag from the tofu sandwich that I loved at Jimbos.  (This was Meatless Week!)  The little stick notes are from SMASH again.  The bottom two photos are my new DIY craft island/table

Another week where I had to add an extra 6up 12x12 protector for all the extra photos and journaling.

Hand-journaled Jane Lui's concert at Belly Up.

Tickets from Jane Lui's concert, plus "Thor" movie tickets

I used another SMASH product for journaling, since I was journaling ABOUT the arrival of my SMASHBook and accessories!  :)

That's it for another two weeks of Project Life. I love this process of documenting life! ♥
