Some Things Have Changed, Some Stayed the Same

Tomorrow is our 17th wedding anniversary.  Tonight, out of nostalgia, I dug out a video I made from our 10th anniversary party in 2004.  We chartered a yacht and invited 35 of our family and friends for a dinner party while cruising around San Diego Bay.  It was a great party.  Watching it made me tear up.  Some things have changed since 2004.  My friend Barbara died from cancer.  Barbara's husband Mike remarried.  Todd's sister Amy got divorced.  Todd's bandmate from the Northstar Session went on to be in 2AM Club and has been touring and been on MTV.  Phil and Amy broke up.  Phil married Jackie and now they're expecting their first child.  My mom died of cancer.  My dad married Shelly.  Many babies were born.

One thing I'm truly glad for and thank God for everyday, is that Todd and I are still together to celebrate 17 years of marriage.  I'm truly privileged to call him my husband.   My life is truly blessed because of him.   I ♥ you Todd!

PS - When the party happened back in 2004, I had brought my camera to the boat but didn't charge my battery, so I wasn't able to take any photos.  I remember being SO upset.  But a wonderful thing happened.  I was enjoying myself and being in the moment instead of worried about taking photos.   My friends and family took photos and gave them to me on CD's.  We also had a few disposable cameras around and everyone took photos with those.  I ended up with some wonderful photos after all.
