Project Life | July 16th to July 29th

I've been having a lot of creative fun in my craft studio catching up on my Project Life pages. I'm actually all caught up to last Friday, so look for another update later this week for the rest of the pages. :)

July 16th to July 22nd

The weekend of July 16th we had amazing weather.  Both the sky and the ocean was as blue as it could be.  We went running in Encinitas by the beach.  Anne and Gilbert took us to Smashburger Del Mar as a thanks for Todd babysitting their turtles while they were away.

I stamped on a Project Life journal card using Fancy Pants Summer Soiree clear acrylic stamps.  The journal card on the right is a digital printable from Echo Park called Springtime Paper/Element Pack #2.

We made homemade ice cream for the first time, using our new ice cream maker.  We made chocolate raspberry ice cream and it was SO delicious!  We were so surprised how easy it was to make delicious homemade ice cream.

I used a Elle's Studio Pennant - Turquoise to journal about me taking Instagram photos of Noodle and stapled it right onto the photo.  I put 4 Instagram photos onto a 4x6 canvas in Photoshop and print it out.

4x6 journaling about the ice cream making.  The ice cream graphics came from here.  Font is DJB Jenna by Darcy Baldwin.

We had dinner at Dumpling Inn with Cassi, Dan, and Madison.  Todd got happy mail two days in a row, consisting of NCAA Football 2012 video game and a big bucket of popcorn from Fireworks Popcorn.

Todd went to Harry Potter movie without me, because I don't do 3D movies and I don't like snakes.  This was his ticket and his journaling.

I printed out journaling onto Becky Higgins 3x4 Grid Journal Cards. I created a 2.75x3.75 white canvas in Photoshop, then just journaled and printed it out onto the journal cards.  Fonts are Mari and David (for the red titles) and Courier New

My prize from winning an Elle's Studio Facebook contest came in the mail.  More Instagram photos of Noodle.  I cooked Stir-Fried Shrimp with Snow Peas and Red Bell Peppers from America's Test Kitchen for the first time.  We went to Yogurtland, where they had Hello Kitty spoons.

Round tag is Everyday Journaling 3" Circle Tags from Elle's Studio.  I glued the business card from Yogurtland onto a 3x4 grid journal card and date stamped the side.  The "FRIDAY" is stamped with Tiny Classic Letter Alphabet Stamps from Hero Arts.  Journal card on the right is digital product from Echo Park called "Springtime Paper/Element Pack #2".

July 23rd to July 29th

For this spread I had many photos plus ticket memorabilia, so all the journaling is on the left side.

Went to visit my dad in LA to celebrate his birthday with him

I did all the journaling in Photoshop first, taking into account the space for design on the Project Life journaling cards.  Then I printed them out.

We went to Bull Taco for lunch after a run.  Bull Taco has a deck over the ocean!  Went to see the San Diego production of "Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog", where our friend Jane Lui played the lead role of "Penny".

The little tag on the photo of Bull Taco is Elle's Studio's "Pennants - Turquoise".  I stamped on it using Hero Arts Tiny Classic Letter Alphabet Stamps.

Then I have a page spread of Week In The Life photos, along with the WITL daily sheets that I downloaded from Ali Edwards' site and hand wrote my daily happenings and observations.

Week in the Life

All the tags on this page are from Elle's Studio.  The 3.5x1.5 inch tags are "Everyday Tiny Tags".  The 4x6 is "Everyday Large Journal Tags".  The lower left tag is from "Lil' Snippets: Labeled - Yellow and Orange".

For this Week In The Life journaling, I created a 4x6 white canvas in Photoshop and typed in the journaling, taking into account the space where I planned to put the 3.5x1.5 "The Story From Today" tag.  Then I printed the journaling out onto a American Crafts 4x6 white cardstock and adhered the tag and stamped the dates on there.

Went running at Lake Miramar and took some Instagram photos.  More Week In The Life photos as well.

The left and right journaling cards are Ormolu's 2-Day Hooray Days of the Week Button Embellishments (see photo #4 on their site - the digital printable tags). I printed them out onto white cardstock and stamped the dates on them and journaled on them.

Phew, that's it for these two weeks of Project Life! Another update will come this weekend. :)

  2. I am going to start the project life scrapbooking! You inspired me. :)

It seems much less overwhelming than a 12 x 12 page. Can't wait to get started.
