Project Life | July 2nd to July 15th

I had so much fun catching up on my Project Life album this weekend. Whenever I'm doing stuff in my craft studio, it always fills me with joy and I'm so happy when I'm in there. My Project Life album makes me very happy!

The other thing about Project Life is... it's okay that I fell a few weeks behind. I actually had all the photos in the page protectors, I just hadn't had a chance to do all the journaling yet. But I pretty much have all the journaling and memories on my blog already, so I don't get stressed out about forgetting things. It's all good and I just simply enjoy the process of updating my Project Life album. I refuse to get stressed out if I'm "behind" on it.

I started a new album for July to December, because my previous album from January to June got very thick already. I had purchased a We R Memory Keepers 12x12 Faux Leather 3-Ring Album from Joann.com when they had a 40% off sale before. (I got the light blue one.) They are also on sale right now for 40% off too! I created a title page for the July to December album, using some of the coordinating patterned papers that came in my Project Life - Amber Edition kit. I picked a piece of 12x12 paper and just cut them into several 4x6 pieces and rounded the corners and put them into my title page. I added some coordinating 3x4 cards from the kit. Then I decorated two Project Life 3x4 grid journaling cards with stamps.

The alphabet stamps are these Martha Stewart stamps that I got on clearance at Michaels a few weeks ago. I *think* these are them.  The little camera stamp came from the "Say Cheese Too" set from Lawn Fawn.

The heart stamps came from this Korean wooden stamp set called "Simple Pattern Stamp Set" that I purchased on Etsy.

Ok, that's the title page of my July to December 2011 album. Now onto the actual pages!

Week of July 2nd to July 8th

This week started out with a visit to my dad in LA.

On the left I used a small tag from the Margarita tag bits by American Crafts, with a twine tied to it.  The word art "Capture Today Capture Life" is from Life Mini Line Stacks Brushes and Stamps by Ali Edwards. It is a digital product. I created a 2.75x3.75 canvas in Photoshop and sized the word art on there to fit. Then I put a color overlay on it and printed it out onto a Project Life grid journaling card. I also used a digital product called Everyday Striped Journaling Tags by Elle's Studio.  I printed it out and then hand journaled on it.  The little green pennant tag on the upper right photo is "Pennants - Lime" by Elle's Studio.

AJ and Meera and the kids came over and we had lunch and played some games on the Wii.

Products used: Lil' Snippets: Labeled - Yellow and Orange and Ledger Love Notes (digital) by Elle's Studio.

You can actually see these pages featured on my Saturday Spotlight on the Elle's Studio blog!

Week of July 9th to July 15th

We went running at Lake Miramar and ran into our friends Monika and David.

Another digital product by Ali Edwards called Life Mini Line Stacks Brushes and Stamps that I printed out onto a Project Life grid journaling card.

I had many photos + stories this week, so I used some extra 12x12 6up 4x6 page protectors from We R Memory Keepers in my album.

I went on a girls only outing with my good friends Sally and Lara.  It was my first time visiting the Sunny Jim Cave in La Jolla!

A close up of the journaling.  I used Ali Edwards' Story Overlays 6x4 Journalers Value Pack on a 4x6 canvas in Photoshop.  Did my journaling in there, then printed out onto the backside of an American Crafts 4x6 white textured cardstock.  (The front side has too much texture for my taste.)

We went to Bluegrass Brunch at Urban Solace with Monika and David.

Used a 4x6 Everyday Large Journaling Tag by Elle's Studio.

We went to happy hour at Donovan's downtown in the Gaslamp, then to the Padres vs Giants game at Petco Park.

Used another overlay from Ali Edwards' Story Overlays 6x4 Journalers Value Pack for the journaling in Photoshop and printed it out.

More photos from the Padres game, as well as our tickets.

We got a new ice cream machine and a recipe book.  We made Pan-Seared Chicken from America's Test Kitchen.  Noodle celebrated his 1st birthday with some roasted turkey.

The journaling card on the right is Ledger Love Notes (digital) by Elle's Studio.  I embellished with some heart stamps from the Korean stamp set described above.

I should have the next two weeks done in my Project Life album later this week, so I'll have another update then!  :)
