Project Life | August 20th to September 2nd

I finished two more week of my Project Life album, so I thought I would share it.  Still loving the process of picking out photos within Adobe Lightroom, making some 4x6 photo collages in there, and exporting it for printing.  I have said that I will do a video screencast tutorial on how that works, and I will do it soon!  It saves SO much time for me!

I have a new linky tool at the end of the post that shows all the supplies that I used for these Project Life pages.  Feel free to ask me for more details in the comments on this post if you want to know more.

August 20th to 26th

I got some new running shoes from Road Runner Sports, for free!  I won a Girls On The Run raffle at the store back in May.  I got a pair of Nike Zoom Vomero+ 6 and they feel awesome!  Todd and I went to Aaron Bowen’s Macaroni Club for the first time and got to see lots of local artists, musicians, and crafty people.  It was cool.  Todd made Sopa de Albondigas for the Soup Club exchange.  And Noodle?  He was just being his usual cute self.  He loves to hang out on the stairs.

We went to San Diego Zoo’s Nighttime Zoo for the first time.  We went to Ortegas for dinner beforehand.  The big cats were spectacular and active at dusk!  The right side is a folded map of the zoo.  It was so large I had to tri-fold it to fit into the right side of a We R Memory Keepers Three 4x6 + One 6x12 page protector

Close up of the 4x6 journaling that I printed out onto white 4x6 cardstock.

More Nighttime Zoo photos and another side of the map.

Todd held a charity chocolate tasting contest and this was each contestant’s form to fill out.  I put it in a 8.5x11 standard sheet protector from Staples.

Todd made Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies, we made Salted Caramel Ice Cream, and Todd did his second open-water swim of this summer at La Jolla Cove.  We went to Burger Lounge for dinner afterwards.  The bottom left photo collage is one that I made in Lightroom.

August 27th to September 2nd

Todd volunteered at the American Cancer Society’s Bark for Life on Saturday 8/27.  All in all, over $16,000 was raised for cancer research at the event.  We went running at Lake Miramar that evening and the sunset was spectacular.  We had lunch with AJ & Meera and the kids at Rubios.  20110911-IMG_8406_600

The camera is a stamp from Lovestruck stamps by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts.  I love that little camera!  I stamped it in brown and colored the heart with a red coloring pencil.  Then adhered to the card with foam adhesive for dimension.

After lunch at Rubios, we walked over to Panera for the Soup Club exchange.  On the middle left is a soup label I made for Todd’s soup containers for the exchange.  I had ramen noodle soup with Sally at Santouka, inside the Mitsuwa Market, where I went to the Sanseido Bookstore for the first time.  That week, Todd was in San Francisco from Tuesday to Friday for the Dreamforce conference.  We tried video chatting on Google Hangout but the connection wasn’t very good.

  5. Hi! I was wondering if you'd be able to explain how you do the collage in Lightroom, like you talked about above?
