The Awesomeness of Running Outside

I hadn’t been running outside in a couple of weeks, due to traveling, the weather, or being sick with a cold.  I usually run on the treadmill at home in the mornings now, before work.  It’s dark and cold outside (even in San Diego) and I just feel warmer, safer, and more convenient running inside my house.  I finally got to go running at Lake Miramar last Saturday though, and I was so happy to get outside and get some exercise.  :)

It was actually a little bit cool, low to mid-60’s, and quite cloudy.

I ran 3.5 miles.  Felt so good to get out and run again.  I’ve missed it!

Oh and remember my blog post about strength training?  I have been keeping it up, and have seen great results.  I feel leaner and stronger, and I don’t have the aches and pains in my shoulders, back and legs from sitting in front of the computer all day anymore.  And I’ve lost 4 pounds!  I’m keeping it up because like I said in my blog post before, the most success I’ve had at fat loss has involved weight training.

  1. All right, all right...I just printed the strength training blog post. I'm posting it in the room that contains my weights that have never been used...which are sitting next to the elliptical that I hate. BUT..the person in the mirror keeps getting flabbier and she's starting to get on my nerves.

Strength training will be my "new 52" for next week...I promise.

  3. Congrats on your 4 pounds loss but most of all that you feel better with your strength training. That's great. (BTW, I like the shoes).
