This week's Project Life took me longer to complete, because I had an extra insert and it took me a while to print out all my photos. I have to say, I absolutely LOVE printing my photos at home. It makes a huge difference in me being able to keep up with this project on a weekly basis. And I actually love the quality of my prints I get at home. When it comes out of my printer, they look almost exactly the way I saw them on my computer after I processed the photos. Because I had so much to do this week, I had a lot of hybrid items in my book. I think when I'm pressed for time, my natural instinct is to go through my digital stash and use those and print them out. Having been a digi scrapper since 2006, it's where my creativity naturally goes to in times of trying to "get it done". :) So I'm excited that I got to use some of the digital products that I bought a long while ago. And some new ones too.
Here's my two page spread for the week.
Left-side page. Lots of everyday life photos + stories, from this blog post.
I had an extra photo and it's of a delicious red velvet cupcake, so I couldn't just not use it. I taped it onto my Week 8 title card with some clouds and hearts washi tape I got this week, and then wrote and drew on the photo itself with an ultra fine Sharpie marker. Used Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle Alpha Sticker in Vintage Red for the "week", and cut out the "8" with my Silhouette digital cutter, using Bazzill kraft cardstock.
For all my photos this week, I digitally stamped the date on each photo using Stack-a-Date Brushes and Stamps No. 01 by Katie Pertiet. I love how you can stamp each part of it onto the photo individually, so you can change the configuration as you wish. I also journaled on the photos themselves using Strangelove font.
The "Remember This" journal card I created using Ali Edwards' "Life Is Good Labels Brushes and Stamps". The middle card with the heart is from "2012: Lifeblocks" by Audrey Neal. The "awesome" card on the right is from "Check Cards No. 01 Brushes and Stamps" by Cathy Zielske. Yes, using digital products to journal on them and then printing it out saved my butt this week! :p
Another photo with the stacked date stamps and journaling on it.
Right-side page. There's a photo of the Valentine's card I made Todd, and him opening it. We went out to dinner at Homestyle Hawaiian with Cassi, Dan, and Madi. I took a couple of self-portraits this week to use as my online avatars. We had a Soup Club meeting. And we went to see "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" in the threater.
The left-side journal card is a digital freebie from Elle's Studio. I stamped on it using "Stack-a-Date Brushes and Stamps No. 01" again, but this time instead of stacking I went across the card. The right side journal card came in the Project Life Clementine Core Kit. I just wrote on it with a red Sharpie pen and date-stamped it.
I *love* this 4x6 journal card I made about going to the Mission Impossible movie. I created a 4x6 blank canvas in Photoshop first. I found a promo photo of the movie on the internet and downloaded it. Then I opened it in Photoshop and dragged it onto my 4x6 canvas and resized it to fit the left side of my journal card. Then I created the title going up and down. I created a text box on the bottom right for my journaling, which I copied in from my "OhLife" entry. I created a doodled frame around the whole thing and printed it out onto Canon matte photo paper. Then I stapled our ticket stubs onto the top right using Tiny Attacher.
This week I also had an extra insert for our day off on President's Day. I used the Project Life Design G page protector for the first time and I big puffy heart it! I love that it's slightly smaller than my normal 2-page spread. (Design G is 12x10.) It's perfect for an extra insert for the week.
I made this journal card myself, using Katie Pertiet's "New Growth Brushes and Stamps No. 06 Mega Pack" and "Messy Stamped Alphabet No. 05 Brushes and Stamps". I had forgotten that I bought these a long while ago, and I'm so happy to whip them out to use them!
I had a lot of journaling for the front and back of this insert, so I used some of Cathy Zielske's 4x6 journal cards. This one is from "Story Savers 4x6 No. 01 Brushes and Stamps". I recolored it green to match my photos, then I copied the journaling in from my "OhLife" entry.
Now I want to share my awesome discovery of the week! It's a free font called "Stamp". It totally looks like a date stamp! So I used this font for all my journaling and dates on the photos in this extra insert of the week.
The backside of my 12x10 extra insert.
I had a lot more journaling, so I used "Journal Card Brushes and Stamps" by Cathy Zielske. Clean and simple. And awesome.
