Project Life | Assembly Line Process

On Friday I got ready to complete two weeks (week 15 and 16) of Project Life by making journal cards.  This was the first time I mass-produced a bunch of journal cards in a stamping, cutting, and sewing frenzy.  I think I really like doing this all at once, rather than just making the journal cards that I need that particular week for Project Life.  Because when I create them one-off, I’m already spending time getting my stamps, ink pads, ink mists, etc. out.  So by making a whole bunch at once, I’m saving time for the next few weeks of Project Life, when I can just get a decorated journal card out and use it!

I used some of the stamps I hand-carved myself to stamp onto journal cards.

I used a Studio Calico Ampersand mask on a 3x4 Project Life grid journal card and sprayed with some Studio Calico Mr. Huey mists.


After spraying, I removed the mask and this was what the journal card looked like.


I sprayed more, using different colors and base cardstock.


Then I took a whole bunch of stamps out onto my craft table and started a stamp-fest. 


After a while I had a whole BUNCH of 3x4 journal cards to use in my Project Life album!  A bunch of these stamps were found in the $1 bin at Michaels!


Next, I used Cutting Files: Edged Borders SVG cutting files by Amy Martin, resized them to 6 inches in Silhouette Designer Studio, and cut the borders out with different papers. 

This way I have a whole bunch of borders to use on 4x6 journal cards, like this!


And I even whipped out the sewing machine and stitched some of the borders onto 4x6 cardstock, like this one.

I also used the sketch function on my Silhouette to draw out some digital items.  I bought the Chomas pen holder and marker holder for the Silhouette a couple of weeks ago.  With these holders, I’m able to use almost any pen and any marker in my arsenal!  The digital items I used were from The Lilypad.


My newest discovery is I love to use Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust glitter pens to sketch with my Silhouette!  It works awesome and I LOVE how it looks!
