Cropping at Paper Tales

I found out on Instagram that a couple of my scrapbooking friends were going to Paper Tales to crop on Saturday 10/13, so I signed up too. Paper Tales has just expanded their store into the space next door, after the coffee shop closed. So I was excited to see their new space!

I met Gina and Kristen at the Amy Tan class at Paper Tales in May. Since then I’ve been to two crops at Ever After with Kristen, but this was the first time meeting up with Gina to crop.

I love our lovely scrapbooking mess! :)

I brought along my October Studio Calico kit, Roller Rink, along with the add-on kit Crack The Whip. I worked on a layout about my cat Noodle. I stamped and misted first on the background, then laid my papers and photo out.

I used the camera stamp on patterned paper, then put a blue enamel dot in the middle where the “lens” of the camera is.

I started a second layout, but I didn’t have time to finish it there.

Kelly came and joined us later. I met her through the crops at Ever After.

And a photo of all four of us. You can also see what this side of the store looks like now that they’ve taken over the coffee shop space.

I didn’t have the Thickers alphas that I wanted to use with me, so I finished the title for my layout when I came home.

I got the “Talk to the Paw” flair from Evalicious.  I just love it!

Closer look at the journaling.

As usual, I had a lot of fun scrapbooking with my new scrapbook friends. I did buy some new papers that I liked while I was there. Paper Tales has some of the latest and greatest there if you are looking for a LSS in San Diego. :)

  4. I am so jealous! Almost all of the scrapbook stores near me have closed. I use to meet up with a girlfriend to scrap all the time...oh how I miss that.

Thanks for sharing your great pages with us.

  6. I've never been to a crop before, but I tell you, if I had a cool scrapbooking supplies store like Paper Tales near me, I'd be there in a heart-beat! It looks AMAZING!!!

  7. Really like how you accented the camera with the blue dot and that flair is super cool too. What is it with cats and getting into interesting places? Mine love things like boxes but we've found them all over the place. When one was a kitten she even liked to sleep in the bathtub, all curled up, so sweet. Sounds like a fun crop!

  8. Sounds like such a fun time with your scrapping friends. If I ever get to San Diego area I most certainly will have to check out these stores. BTW, Noodle looks so cute all cuddled in the box. I guess it must be comfy.

  12. I've heard really great things about that store--I have to get down to SD at some point, but the 5 south is CRAZY after I get off of work.
I love what you did with your SC kit, especially the stamp/enamel dot. I haven't really done much with the kit and addons yet, but I think you inspired me.
I need to learn how to do those mist drips.
