I do finance and budgeting support of several groups at work. On Tuesday 12/4 I was blessed to be invited to the department holiday luncheon for GSO, one of the departments that I support.
We met at the Broadway Pier downtown to take the ferry to Coronado Island. Even though I’ve lived in San Diego for 13 years, I’ve never taken the ferry before!
On the boat with my coworkers.
The ferry was docked right across from the USS Midway Museum.
Our ferry boat leaving Broadway Pier.
USS Midway from the water.
Another view of the aircraft carrier.
Group photo opp!
Looking back at San Diego from the ferry. So pretty.
Approaching Coronado.
Arrival at the Coronado Ferry Landing.
View of the Coronado Bay Bridge – if you’re driving between San Diego and Coronado you would take the bridge.
The restaurant was just a couple of minutes walk away from the Ferry Landing.
Arriving at Peohe’s.
We had the outside room all to ourselves, with great panoramic views.
Each of the managers prepared gifts for their employees.
David, the organizer of the luncheon, got up to speak a few words.
Mark, the General Manager of the group, got up to speak a few words.
Lunch is served! I didn’t get the salad but my coworker Steve who sat next to me did. It looked yummy!
I got the lobster bisque. It was delicious and had chunks of lobster in it!
My coworker Michelle got the salmon.
I got the prime rib but it was too huge, and a bit too red for me. I could only eat half of it.
Because I had to save some room for dessert. Macadamia nut ice cream pie.
After lunch, we caught the ferry back to San Diego.
It was a great time and I’m very blessed and thankful to have been invited to go to this holiday lunch with the GSO department! I’ve always said that I love what I do, but it’s the people whom I work with that makes my job special and worthwhile. These are a good group of people to work with.

That food looks delicious!! It seems like you & Todd always have fun things going on at work!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right about the people you work with making the job more special & it's certainly the case where I work. I ♥ my co-workers, they're all good friends and can really "lift" my spirits if I'm feeling a little blue.
ReplyDeleteI am beginning to think we made a mistake not moving to SoCal when Brad was offerred a job outside of LA. It seems like the work parties are so much more fabulous out there, and the views are pretty nice too.
