On my birthday (Monday) Todd took me out to dinner at Indigo Grill in the Little Italy neighborhood of San Diego. We had never been there but had always wanted to go.
Wine for him. Strawberry margarita for her.
Our meal came with some jalapeno flatbread with dip.
My date for the evening. The best husband in the whole wide world.
A year older. Thank goodness for hair coloring!
Todd got the Pecan-Crusted Rainbow Trout with roasted corn salsa, caramelized orange-pasilla beurre blanc, and oven roasted potatoes.
I got the Flat-Iron Chimichurri with pico de gallo, black beans, cilantro vinaigrette salad, and chili honey glazed quesadilla. Very delicious!
Since it was my birthday, this dessert was on the house. There was some saltiness to it that I was not used to in a dessert.
Blowing out my candle.
The dessert we ordered was the Chocolate Caueta Vulcan with warm liquid chocolate center, caramel ice cream, and chocolate cake on the bottom. We didn’t know it was going to be so huge!
Someone was excited! Todd Shot!
After our combined birthday dinner earlier this month, Monday was an understated birthday celebration with just the two of us. I’m so lucky to spend it with my favorite person in the world!

One of the funniest "Todd Shot's" EVER!!!
ReplyDeleteAgree with Sue that it's a true classic Todd Shot. And Happy Birthday a few days late!
ReplyDeletehappy birthday! I love indigo grill! its one of my faves. I've been with others who ordered the chimichurri steak and loved it. I really like their Good Things Growing platter which is veggie. You know, I think dessert was mimicking Todd's todd shot :)
