Write.Click.Scrapbook. | June Gallery Layout + Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Write.Click.Scrapbook. 4-year birthday celebration blog hop!  I'm so glad you're here!  I remember four years ago when some of the women involved with Simple Scrapbook Magazine launched this site.  I wouldn't have imagined that four years later I would be a part of such a talented group of women, sharing our layouts, stories, and inspiration on a daily basis.

In the spirit of what Write.Click.Scrapbook. is all about, I'm sharing three tips today!

Before I go to sleep every night, I jot down the highlights of the day in a Moleskine daily planner.  This is the 3rd year I've done this and it's become an invaluable tool to me to remember my days.  Last year I also wrote an entry everyday in Oh Life, all 366 days!

Use a self-timer and get in the photo!  Your family will be glad to see photos of you in the years to come.
Make a list of all the techniques or supplies you would like to try or use.  Cut each into a strip of paper roll them up and put them into a jar.  Next time you are stuck creatively, pull out any random three and use that to jump start your scrapbooking.

Our June gallery theme is Year 4 Favorite.  My layout was inspired by Katie Ehmann's post about only using papers on your layout.  A myriad of papers!

My layout:  Date Night
Supplies:  cardstock (American Crafts) + patterned paper (American Crafts Amy Tangerine, Dear Lizzy, Studio Calico) + stamps (American Crafts) + ink (Memento) + pen (Sharpie) + punches (Fiskars, Marvy Uchida, McGill) + digital graphic (Ali Edwards) + digital die cutter (Silhouette America) + adhesives (Scotch, Glue Dots, Tombow) + stapler (Advantus) + font (Blackout)

I cut strips of patterned paper.  Then I cut them into squares.  Then from there I cut the squares diagonally into triangles and lined them up and adhered them to my layout.

Also, in case you missed it this week... I hosted a week of posts at Write.Click.Scrapbook. all about hybrid scrapbooking and crafting!

Monday:  Intro + typing, digital brushes, and handwriting on photos

Tuesday:  Hybrid Project Life

Thursday:  One Little Bird Giveaway (now closed)

Friday:  Hybrid Crafts

  4. Great layout it's a good way to use pieces of scraps. I love the layered look. It is hard for me to gage when there is enough layering. I don't want it to look like I threw up a bunch of papers and embellishments :). It's a work in progress. You definitely out did yourself with the Hybrid tips.
