Padres vs Giants, Take Two

This past April we drove up to San Francisco to celebrate AJ’s birthday with him.  One of the highlights of the trip was the Giants vs Padres game at AT&T Park.  We found out the Giants were visiting the Padres down here in San Diego this past week, so we got discounted tickets through Todd’s work for the game on Tuesday 9/3.  After all, we have not gone to a Padres game at Petco Park this season and that’s a summer tradition!

Walking across the bridge and seeing Petco Park is always so fun.

But first, we went to happy hour at Donovan’s, our favorite steakhouse in San Diego.

His & Hers:  Todd had Diet Coke while I had a pear martini.  This was way more potent than I had expected!

My cute date.

We shared steak some steak burrito and teriyaki steak skewer.

Then it was time to walk down the street to Petco Park.  It always gives me a special feeling to see the majestic park upon walking up to it.

And the setting sun just made it even prettier.

Our seats were higher up, but right above home plate.

It was so beautiful to see some of the San Diego skyline as the sun set.

We didn’t stay for the whole game since it was a weeknight.  The Padres ended up beating the Giants 3-2.   Leaving Petco Park with its lit-up glory….

We crossed the pedestrian bridge to the parking lot.  I always love how the stairs light up at night.

It was super-fun that for the 2013 Major League Baseball season, we got to see the Padres play the Giants twice, once in San Francisco and once in San Diego!  Plus we got to cross this off our summer manifesto.
