Recently I purchased some stencils designed by Ronda Palazzari for The Crafter’s Workshop. I wanted to experiment with more artsy and mixed media techniques. So Peppermint and I scheduled another video scrap chat on Google Hangout and we both crafted and showed each other our stuffs.
This was what I ended up making.
For all of these cards, I used watercolors on Strathmore 300 Watercolor Paper, a silver Faber-Castell Pitt Artist pen, and a black Staedtler Lumicolor pen.
In most cases, I used watercolor with the stencil first. Then I outlined the design with one of the pens to make it stand out more.
I did these 4 cute designs that look like Instax photos.
A closer look…
For this cute camera I outlined the design with the Pitt silver pen.
One of the cassette tapes from the Mix Tape stencil.
I had so much fun crafting and chatting with Peppermint that I didn’t realize we did it for three hours!
We must do it again.
What fun!! I love the items you made. Those colors are dreamy.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, those are fabulous, Christine! And I loved that you two did a long-distance scrap session. How fun. Keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, a video art date! That's a fab idea.
ReplyDeletePeppermint and water colors!! What next glitter?! What a great way to scrap. I would like to be there when Peppermint has to reload her ATG. LOL.
ReplyDeletewow--those turned out great! Question: what watercolors (brand/make) are you using?? And do you prefer that disk/pan to the crayons?
ReplyDeleteI'm totally not a watercolor expert, lol. Just using the Artist Loft $5 pan from Michaels. I've never used the crayons.
DeleteLove these. I don't know why I never thought about using water colours with stencils.
ReplyDeleteSo cool! TFS. I've never used stencils with watercolors. This opens up a whole new world for me. Thanks for all the links, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for Sharing this awesome idea. I have been thinking about getting this stencil set, but wasn't sure how to Incorporated it into my layouts etc. I love, love the watercolor technique!
