The September layout gallery at Write.Click.Scrapbook. is now live! This month our theme is “Palette-able”. We each got to pick a favorite color palette and do our layout using it!
Here is my layout: Sleeping Beauty
12 x 12 | materials cardstock (American Crafts, Kelly Paper) + patterned paper (Gossamer Blue, Elle's Studio, Bella Blvd, Hambly, Becky Higgins) + heart doily (Freckled Fawn) + twine (Whiskar Graphics) + pen (Sakura) + stickers (Echo Park) + letter stickers (Simple Stories Sn@p) + washi tape (Freckled Fawn) + diecuts (October Afternoon) + stamps (American Crafts) + ink (Memento, Tsukineko) + spray ink (Studio Calico) + paint (Martha Stewart) + spray stencil (Heidi Swapp) + sequins (Gossamer Blue) + wood veneers (Freckled Fawn) + paper clips (Freckled Fawn, Studio Calico) + ceramic embellishments (Freckled Fawn) + adhesives (Scotch, Glue Dots, Ranger) + punches (Marvy Uchida) + digital photo overlays (Karla Dudley, Scotty Girl Designs) + digital cutting file (Studio Calico) + digital cutter (Silhouette)
One of my favorite color palettes is yellow and gray together. Just those two colors look so sunny and happy. When I decided to scrap a really cute photo of my gray cat Noodle taking a nap, I knew I had to use the gray & yellow color palette!
I used digital stamps by Karla Dudley on my photo in Photoshop before printing it out.
The cat paperclip is so cute!
I wanted to show you my process of creating this layout. First I printed the photo out. Then I found yellow and gray papers and embellishments and picked out the ones I wanted to use for my layout.
(I was having a scrap video chat date with my friend Peppermint!)
I wanted to mist a Heidi Swapp heart mask onto my background cardstock. I created my own gray/silver mist using a silver Studio Calico mist, combined with Martha Stewart metallic silver craft paint and water into a Mini Mister. I learned that you could do this from my friend Melissa Stinson (Scrappy Jedi)!
Next I sprayed my DIY color mist onto my mask/cardstock, with the end result being this.
Then I layered my layout on top of the misted cardstock after it dried a bit.
There are some awesome layouts in the September gallery at Write. Click. Scrapbook.! Go check out the gallery and also the intro post on the WCS blog.
