I gave myself a Weight-Watchers break in December. Not the whole December, but pretty much from the Hawaii vacation mid-month until Jan. 6th. I ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Guess what? I actually got sick of it. Now I’m back on Weight-Watchers this week and feeling good!
During the holiday season, Todd and I had several hot chocolate dates. Mainly because Todd’s sister Amy gave us a bunch of Williams Sonoma hot chocolates and marshmallows. Yum!
For breakfast on NYE, we got up early so we could go to Snooze! I went with Pearl in November, but Todd has never been.
I got a half order of corned beef hash & eggs, plus a strawberry buttermilk pancake. Todd got pineapple upside-down pancake and carrot cake pancake. Everything was absolutely delicious.
We ate at home for NYE night. It’s our tradition to make dinner at home and relax. Todd decided he missed the roman burgers that he had in Akron as a youth. So he made some homemade roman burgers and some homemade baked fries. So good!
On New Years Day our next-door neighbors Fred & Annie invited us over for lunner (something between lunch & dinner, like at 3pm). They had a lot of hors d'oeuvres!
And drinks.
And so much food for dinner that it could have fed an army.
The gang’s all here.
This chocolate cake that Annie made was sooooo good. So glad to be off WW for this one!
Of course, with all that eating, I still exercised. I had a really nice run at the beach on Dec. 29th. It was completely gorgeous at the coast and it was low-tide, so I got to run on the sand.
Lucky to live in San Diego.
There were some great Noodle moments during the holidays.
Snuggling with Todd on New Years Day while watching the Rose Bowl.
Snuggling with me on the couch.
And… we got Noodle a pet-safe heating pad. He got to enjoy it. I know, I tell him all the time that he lives in San Diego! But he had been climbing on top of our DISH receiver and sleeping on there, so we thought this was a better solution for him.
I got Todd a t-shirt that combines two of his favorite things to do together: eating popcorn while watching football!
Oh! Last Saturday 1/4 we got to go see A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor live at the San Diego Civic Theater!
Todd is a bigger fan than me, but I found the live show very entertaining. Great musicians and lots of skits making fun of yoga-loving surfers in San Diego!
We went to Burger Lounge for dinner afterwards. We hadn’t been there in a long while. I got the baby lounge burger and it was absolutely yummy to the max.
Then we walked over to Pannikin Coffee and shared a piece of chocolate pie.
We had a great two weeks back in San Diego after our trip to Hawaii. I had to work everyday except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, but some days I worked from home and got to enjoy some down time with Todd during breaks. Todd’s company had a company-wide mandatory shut-down until Jan. 6th, so he had a LOT of time off in December! Now we are both back at work, busy as ever. Looking forward to this weekend already! :)
mmmmm. Sounds like a delicious and fun Christmas season! What is a roman burger? I'm intrigued!

Romanburger is a creation of Mr Hero restaurant in Akron. Todd loved it growing up!
