I had an incredible amount of fun putting together these Project Life pages for the 2nd half of February. I used a lot of items from the Studio Calico February Project Life kit, Sugar Rush. It makes it go faster when I limit my supplies!
As usual, my process involved planning out my pages in Lightroom before taking them into Photoshop for some journaling and then printing the photos out at home.
The first page was the back of Design F. Then I used the front and back of Design A. Then I filled half of Design C at the end of February and will continue with March next time. I love planning out my pages in Lightroom because it allows me to see which photos I want to print at 4x6 and which ones I want to print smaller. You can see my post & video about planning out Project Life pages in Lightroom here.
After I made the 8.5x11 collage in Lightroom for my smaller photos and saved it as a 300 dpi jpeg file, I opened it in Photoshop for some overlays, words, and dates.
I used some confetti (bokeh) overlays by Valorie Wibbens. They add a fun touch to the photos!
Then I printed the photos out.
I got 3.5 pages done this weekend, till the end of February documented.
February page 4: lunch out at Miguel’s, lunch with my friend Meera, my early birthday gift the Roomba, some TV shows we’ve been watching, cooking, and Noodle.
Supplies: Studio Calico Sugar Rush Project Life Kit, SC printable labels (cut out with my Silhouette), sequins, date stamp, Sakura Micron pen, Bic Ultra Fine Markers, enamel dots, October Afternoon Catch Phrase Everyday roller stamp, Stay Tuned digital kit by One Little Bird.
Closer looks. I created the circle overlay and journaling on top in Photoshop.
I used the BIC markers to color in some of the flags in the “wild thing” journal card.
February page 5: Songwriter’s Acoustic Night, Burger Lounge, haircut and some me time, cute Noodle, and running 6 miles for training.
Supplies: Project Life Midnight Edition, Studio Calico Sugar Rush Project Life Kit, Elle's Studio February 2014 Kit, cork cameras, woodgrain enamel dots, Project Life 3x4 Blank Cards, Confetti V.1 by Valorie Wibbens, Lily Bee alpha stickers, Project Life Jade Edition, sequins, Dear Lizzy chipboard, Sakura Micron pens.
This black photographic journal card was in the Studio Calico kit. It said “Travel Time” on it and I didn’t know what to do with it. When I printed out my photos, I realized it would make a great urban background for my concert photo. So I covered up the “travel time” with the photo, and wrote on it with my favorite Uni-ball Signo white pen.
Tied a piece of baker’s twine around the jar.
Love how the sequins on top of the digital confetti on my photo looks!
February page 6: Salk Science + Music concert, new calligraphy book, Project Life card organization, Todd jury duty.
Supplies: Project Life Jade Edition, Studio Calico Sugar Rush Project Life Kit, October Afternoon Catch Phrase Everyday roller stamp, Simple Stories alpha stickers.
I thought the constellation journal card on the left was perfect for journaling about the Science + Music concert.
I pieced together the card on the right from the concert program.
I inserted an 8.5x11 page protector for housing the concert program.
The last photos of February only took up half a page, to be continued in March.
And that was February documented!

ReplyDeleteLOOOOVVEEE this Christine!!!! Love all your little journaling touches on the photos!! And with you doing it hybrid, I like the extra notches that makes it so unique..like the twine around the jar...the little wood cut out pieces...So cute!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, I LOVE all of your Project Life pages, and you have so many useful tutorials on how your process works. I have learned so much from your blog! Just wondering, near the top of your post you have your 8.5x11 collage that you created in Lightroom and brought into PS to add your words/journaling. How do you create the collage in Lightroom with different sized photos? I have only figured out how to create a collage that has all the same size photos… Or maybe you have shown how to do that in another post and I have missed it? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole! The collage with different sized photos is basically the same process as this post with video tutorial: http://www.listgirl.com/2013/02/project-life-page-planning-using.html
DeleteHope that helps!
