Lots of things to catch up on this past week. But first, please check this post to see if you are Kristen, the winner of the Project Life Lessons class giveaway from last week. I have not heard from the winner yet. If she does not email me by this Thursday, I will pick a new winner.
Last Saturday (3/15) we were invited to Cat & Mick’s house for an early St. Patrick’s Day celebration, plus we were celebrating the launch of Cat’s site Lucki Lime, her new line of fitness clothing designed by her!
Todd made these chocolate chip cookies to bring to Cat & Mick’s house. Nobody has ever had these and did not LOVE them. They are called Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies from America’s Test Kitchen.
What’s a St Patrick’s Day celebration without corned beef & cabbage? Mick did a great job!
Cat practicing the “Todd Shot”.
Mick & Cat hard at work on the food, with Koa the dog in the background.
Cat made shamrock sugar cookies too.
And their neighbor Dolly made an incredible fruit tart.
We had so much fun hanging out with Cat & Mick and their friends!
View of the sunset from their backyard.
Todd put up a hummingbird feeder right outside Noodle’s perch. Last Sunday (3/16), Noodle was inundated with birds coming every few minutes. Noodle made that involuntary chattering sound every time a bird came near. So much excitement tired him out! I found him totally pooped out on the rocking chair that evening, lol.
On Monday 3/17 I took the day off work. I was working on my computer in our office when Noodle showed up in the doorway and tried to flirt with me for some petting.
Funny cat! Of course, he did get a belly rub. Later in the day I found him zonked out in Todd’s chair (I mean, Noodle’s chair).
I went to a new yogurt place near our house.
And I scrapbooked.
Here’s a sneak peek of my April layout for Write.Click.Scrapbook.
On Wednesday morning, after I got ready for work and put my makeup on, I walked into the main part of our bedroom from the master bath to find that Noodle has found the sunniest spot upstairs.
He has a knack for finding sunny spots around the house so he could warm up his fur and lay around like a lazy warm cat would.
Todd got some new Gunnar glasses from his sister Amy as a birthday gift. I think he looks great in them! Geeky yet handsome, just my kind of guy!
On Friday I had lunch with my friend Erecca at Stir Fresh. She’s a little camera-shy, so the only photo I have is of my food.
On Friday night (3/21) we went to the Ken Cinema in Kensington to see the movie “Particle Fever”, a documentary about the launch of the Large Hadron Collider and discovery of the Higgs boson particle. (NPR and NY Times reviews.)
You wouldn’t think a documentary about physics would be that compelling, but I totally cried at the end! It was so inspiring to see what the discovery meant to the scientists involved. For some of them, it's a life's work. These scientists are so eloquent, and philosophical at times. It was moving to see the beauty of such dedication to one’s lifetime of work. And of course the drama of the discovery of the Higgs boson particle and what the size of it meant to the universe and its theories. Two huge thumbs up!
There was more crying on Saturday (3/22) morning as we said goodbye to Todd’s friend Julie at her memorial service.
It is still hard to believe that she is gone. Our prayers are with her family as they continue with their grief of losing Julie.
Later in the day, Todd and I drove down to North Park and had a late lunch at Mama’s Lebanese.
And then some chai latte and hazelnut gelato at Pappalecco.
Today I took the day off to clean up the craft room, hopefully scrapbook, read, and generally recover from my 15K race yesterday. Blog post coming about that.
I don't know if you noticed, I looks like the t shirt monster is going a Todd shot at the Lebanese restaurant.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, you're right! I didn't realize it until now!
DeleteSo sad about Todd's friend Julie! My heart goes out to her and her family! The cookies look so yummy! I need to try! Love reading your week in review! I may need to do that on my blog, but struggle w/putting personal stuff on it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can create a private blog and use it that way? I've thought about doing that.
DeleteI actually have a private blog...haven't written in it since I moved from Hawaii...haha! I may restart it, it's a good way to look back especially when I'm PL'ing.
