The whole time we were in Santa Barbara the sun never came out! Good thing we live in San Diego, otherwise we would feel jipped on the trip, ha!
We got up and walked to Handlebar Coffee again, because the latte there is just that good.
Both the day before and this day, we did not see the owners Kim or Aaron there. But the baristas were still very very good. Love the latte so much.
There were cycling memorabilia on the walls, which I loved to look at.
We took the latte back to the hotel and ate breakfast there.
Then we watched some TV and packed up our stuff for going home. Checked out of the hotel and had an early lunch at The Pasta Shoppe inside the Santa Barbara Public Market. We sat on the stools at the counter.
They gave us some grilled bread with a dip of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and parmesan.
I got the tiniest Diet Coke for $3.50! (I didn’t know it was $3.50 or else I wouldn’t have gotten it.)
I got the Tagliatelle dish with wild mushrooms. It was super-delicious!
Todd got a pasta with fresh sausage & asparagus.
And since we were already at the SB Public Market, we had to have Rori’s Creamery ice cream one more time before going home! Todd got nutella flavor this time.
And I got fresh mint patty.
Oh My, is all I’ll say. If you’re ever in Santa Barbara you need to go.
At around noon we started our drive back to San Diego. It took four hours without a lot of traffic in LA. As we approached San Diego, it got sunnier and sunnier. We stopped north of Oceanside to get a photo from a scenic lookout.
Then it was back to sunny SD.
Hi Christine,
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog anyway, but these stories of your trip have been especially enjoyable, probably because of the local angle. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your memories with us!!
