On Wednesday 6/25, Todd and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. TWENTY. It’s hard to believe that we’ve been married for 20 years! Isn’t that what happens to old people??? To celebrate this grand occasion, we both took the day off work.
Todd made us homemade waffles for breakfast!
We put some frozen blueberries and whipped cream on them. Delicious!
Then we exchanged our cards. We love exchanging cards on our anniversary. I think we’ve kept all of them since our first anniversary!
Then we drove down to Coronado Island to have lunch. I LOVE the view of the boats and the San Diego skyline from the Coronado Bridge!
Even driving on the streets of Coronado is very relaxing and beachy! It feels like a vacation every time we go there.
We had our anniversary lunch at Burger Lounge, our favorite burger in San Diego!
I had the baby lounge burger. Todd got the regular lounge burger, and we shared the fries. Yum!
After lunch, we strolled over to the Hotel Del Coronado and the beach. This hotel is super-iconic and has a lot of old-time charm.
The walkway to the beach was so beautiful. And the ocean was so blue that day!
We brought our tripod and big Canon DSLR with us so we could take some photos of us, a mini photo-shoot of sorts to commemorate the occasion.
We took this photo with my phone and posted it to Instagram.
Within five minutes of posting it, the Hotel Del Coronado Instagram account commented on my photo! Isn’t social media awesome?
Todd took this beautiful panoramic photo of the beach. So pretty.
We hung out at the beach and walked around, enjoying the beautiful views and weather.
Then it was Moo Time! Our favorite ice cream in San Diego is Moo Time. We shared a scoop of caramel and a scoop of appie pie ice cream. This was the first time we tried the two flavors together and they go great together!
After ice cream we walked back to the car to head home.
We had about an hour at home before it was time to head back out. We went to DSW Shoes in La Jolla, where Todd got another two pairs of shoes. This time for work though! I also bought some work-appropriate sandals and some Teva flip flops with heels that I love. After that we stopped by Trader Joes to get some fruits.
Then it was time for our anniversary dinner at Donovan’s in La Jolla!
I had a filet mignon medallion with bacon-wrapped scallops, garlic mashed potatoes, and veggies. So good!
Todd had the 6 oz filet mignon with sliced fried potatoes with this incredible sauce over it. He loved it!
And because it was our anniversary, the crème brulee dessert was on the house! They even put a candle on it!
After dinner, we went home and watched the movie “Rush”. It was actually really good and we enjoyed it a lot.
Our anniversary was perfect and we had so much fun! We plan to celebrate more this year with a trip and more good food. :)
Looks like such a lovely day for the two of you. Happy Anniversary!
