Citrus Twist Kits | Down A Volcano

20141004-IMG_4260_CLN

I’m the October guest designer at Citrus Twist Kits and today is a “Sunday Sketch” on their blog.  Here’s the sketch they provided me.

Here’s the layout I created using the sketch and their October main scrapbook kit “Creative Space”.  My layout is about our vacation to Maui in December 2013 and how we bicycled down the volcano Haleakala.

When a piece of patterned paper has word art in a corner, I love to incorporate that into the overall design of my layout.  Biking down a volcano seemed appropriate for the adventure theme!

I typed out journaling in Photoshop, then printed it out on white cardstock and cut them into strips.  Then I adhered them to the page.

I cut out part of the title, the word "bicycling", with my Silhouette digital cutter using white cardstock.

I layered embellishments and diecuts around my photo, propping some up with foam adhesive to create more dimension.

I have one more layout for Citrus Twist Kits to show you later this week, along with a tutorial.  Thanks for stopping by!

  3. beautiful layout and what a daring adventure that was indeed, I live under a volcano, not sure I would want to bike ride it, actually it is impossible, though I have walked up the side of it LOL.

You were great to incorporate the wording, I tend to cover that up on paper.

  4. Isn't that a fun ride? I'm glad to see they give you bike helmets now, when we did it we were helmet-less!

Really great layering on this layout. I wish I could layer without it looking messy!
