I’m so excited to tell you that today I am the guest designer on the American Crafts blog for their So Grateful Week! It has been a dream of mine to be a guest designer for American Crafts, so I was over the moon when Paige emailed me to invite me to play with American Crafts products for So Grateful Week!
I created five projects for American Crafts: three layouts, a card, and a mini album.
SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT | Grateful For Us
Supplies: Autumn Crisp (366518) - Walnut Paper, Cardstock (71081) - 12x12 White, Autumn Crisp (366527) - Oakleaf Red Thickers, Autumn Crisp (366521) - Willow Paper, Autumn Crisp (366515) - Acorn Paper, Autumn Crisp (366516) - Maple Paper, Autumn Crisp (366519) - Park Paper, Autumn Crisp (366517) - Cherry Paper, Autumn Crisp (366522) - Grove Paper.
I used my Silhouette to cut out the heart shapes with white cardstock. Then I filled the heart cutouts with patterned papers. This was a great way to use lots of different patterned papers!
SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT | Furry Friendship
Supplies: Shimelle (368152) - Haynes Paper, Shimelle (368151) - Baxter Paper, Shimelle (368156) - Leavitt Paper, Shimelle (368158) - Dowdy Paper, Shimelle (368145) - Herschel Paper, Shimelle (368157) - Granville Paper, Shimelle (368143) - Earhart Paper, Shimelle (368165) - Dimensional Stickers, Shimelle (368175) Wood Veneer, Shimelle (368164) - Letter Stickers, Stitched (368977) - Shaped Paper Clips, Stitched (368983) - Painted Rub-On Transfer Sheets, Stitched (368975) - Die Cut Acrylic Shapes, Autumn Crisp (366536) - Oak Matte Puffy Accents, Autumn Crisp (366534) - HIckory Decorative Paper Clips, DIY Shop (369055) - Gold Twine, DIY Shop (369056) - Gold Glitter Tape, DIY Shop (369065) - Bulk Rhinestones.
I love this photo of Noodle so I knew I had to create a layout with it. I’m grateful for his furry friendship!
I created a centered composition by cutting a piece of patterned paper with big patterns and adhering it to the center of the cardstock background. This is great for vertical compositions.
SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT | Grateful To Live Here
Supplies: Shimelle (368152) - Haynes Paper, Shimelle (368151) - Baxter Paper, Shimelle (368156) - Leavitt Paper, Shimelle (368158) - Dowdy Paper, Shimelle (368145) - Herschel Paper, Shimelle (368143) - Earhart Paper, Shimelle (368141) Hopper Paper, Shimelle (368165) - Dimensional Stickers, Shimelle (368164) - Letter Stickers, Stitched (368977) - Shaped Paper Clips, Stitched (368983) - Painted Rub-On Transfer Sheets, Stitched (368975) - Die Cut Acrylic Shapes.
I love living in San Diego, so I decided to create a layout with many photos of scenes from San Diego.
Grid layouts are always in style and simple to create. I filled each part of the grid with photos or papers/accents.
CARD | So Grateful For Your Friendship
Supplies: Autumn Crisp (366521) - Willow Paper, Autumn Crisp (366524) - Poplar Paper, DIY Shop (369056) - Gold Glitter Tape, Shimelle (368164) - Letter Stickers.
I created a shaker card and filled it with diecut stars and punched glitter sequins. I really like using letter stickers and typed journaling cut into strips to make easy sentiments on cards.
MINI ALBUM | So Grateful
Supplies: DIY Shop (369047) - Mercantile Tags, DIY Shop (369055) - Gold Twine, DIY Shop (369056) - Gold Glitter Tape, Autumn Crisp (366521) - Willow Paper, Autumn Crisp (366515) - Acorn Paper, Autumn Crisp (366516) - Maple Paper, Autumn Crisp (366519) - Park Paper, Autumn Crisp (366517) - Cherry Paper, Autumn Crisp (366522) - Grove Paper, Autumn Crisp (366524) - Poplar Paper, Autumn Crisp (366536) - Oak Matte Puffy Accents, Shimelle (368165) - Dimensional Stickers.
I created a mini album using the tags from the DIY Shop collection, plus lots of papers and embellishments from the Autumn Crisp collection. My tip for creating a mini album is to keep it simple by making all the page designs the same. Use different papers and accents, but the same design will make the project look cohesive.
Thanks for checking out my projects for American Crafts and sharing in my excitement! Please make sure you check out their blog post of my projects too. I’m so grateful for this opportunity! :-)

ReplyDeleteHi Lois - I bought the Dear Lizzy heart circles shape from the Silhouette store. http://www.silhouettedesignstore.com/?page=view-shape&id=9965
DeleteThen I modified it by copying it and then flipping some and welding the shapes together.
Congratulations, Christine! Your projects are just fantastic-- it's hard to pick a favorite! :)
